The Mabuasehube area in Botswana is a wildlife reserve consisting of several pans offering basic camping accommodation. Normally big game concentrations can be seen on the pans and the area is renowned for its lions frequently visiting the unfenced campsites.
After spending a month in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, we entered the south of Namibia via the Mata Mata border post. Enroute to the coastal town of Luderitz we made an overnight stop in the small town of Aus where we spent a night camping at Klein-Aus Vista Desert Horse Campsite.
In the south of Namibia lies Namtib Hunter’s Rest, a gem of a campsite that we discovered by chance. This was the 12th camp site we stayed at during our overland trip through Southern Africa and definitely one of the best.
Polentswa is a small unfenced camp just east of the Nossob road on the Botswana side of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. This wilderness camp has only three campsites all overlooking the Polentswa pan. Polentswa is a quiet and remote camp that offers a true wilderness experience.
